This June 23-25 the Snake Alley Festival of Film will take place at the gorgeous Capitol Theater in Burlington, Iowa. I am a judge for the festival, and will be part of the awards ceremony on Saturday the 25th. Tadd Good and his staff have a diverse, excellent roster of independent films rolling once again this year, making it an event you will definitely want to attend.
Several years ago a short film I co-directed played at the festival in their first year, and the experience was fantastic. The Capitol is a classic, comfortable venue with a beautiful marquee that makes for great pictures, so be sure to take time to stop for a pic.
Burlington is also home to the eponymous Snake Alley, recognized by Ripley’s as the “crookedest street in the world.” The Alley makes for a fun stroll, challenging bike ride, and certainly another great photo opportunity.
